Filming in progress
Our team is currently working on the production of a documentary on exposure to nature at school, in collaboration with directors Caroline Martel and Nathanaël Corre.
Since September 2023, we have been following Mr. Frederik Wong’s 6th grade class at École des Coquelicots in Montreal, as they experience education in nature.
The documentary will be broadcast in fall 2024.
This project is made possible thanks to financial support from Manulife and a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
Discussions with some experts
The film will chronicle the meetings between the children and Laure Waridel (eco-sociologist, activist), Dr. Claudel Pétrin-Desrosiers (family doctor and president of the Quebec Association of Physicians for the Environment and ambassador of the Prescri-Nature program) and Dr. Marie Claude Geoffroy (professor at McGill University, initiator of the Open Sky School study) with whom they will discuss the themes of mental health and ecology.
The teaching staff will also be mobilised to discuss the obstacles of outdoor education with Jean-Philippe Ayotte-Beaudet (professor holding the Research Chair in Outdoor Education, University of Sherbrooke).

See our activities in pictures
We visited four schools to see the activities of École à Ciel Ouvert in action in various settings, both urban and rural. We took the opportunity to take some pictures to post here.
